Great Pizza and even better Beer. They are usually on a wait at peak hours, so either call first or go during off-hours if you don't have the time. 5 minute walk from the house. Newest and hippest option on Woodstock Street.

Good Southern food and drinks, 5 minute walk from the house. They have a solid breakfast as well on the weekends. Solid fried chicken and jambalaya, and their spicy Delta Red BBQ sauce is dynamite.

Was on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, and I'm sure Guy's producers wouldn't steer you wrong. Good place for a sausage party.

Our favorite restaurant in town, serving up fantastic Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting. If interested, you should look to book ASAP. The good news is they book through opentable.com, the bad news is if you are visiting soon you'll have to arrive early or late or sit at the bar. Very romantic spot, and make sure you try several of the garden options, as nobody does vegetable dishes better in Portland. Make sure you get a Pane as well (ideally one with a delicious cheese on top).

Our favorite Sushi in town, and great for both fish fans and vegetarians, with good veggie sushi options. The Walla Walla roll with or without crab is not to be missed. The major caveat is this place is always super busy, but the easy answer is you are guaranteed a table if you show up at 5:00 when they open. Alternatively, the C-Bar next door is a fantastic bar on its own accord and you can hang there and Yoko's will call you when your table is ready.

Our favorite pizza in town, but be forewarned it's a thicker cornmeal-style crust which may not be your thing (if you like thin pizza check out Gladstone Pizza or Apizza Scholls). The toppings are all top notch and they have some great salads as well. They are probably best known for their corn pizza, but you really can't go wrong with any of their offerings.

One of the best restaurants in Portland. They are known for their Argentine grill action, but their sides and garden items are top notch as well. Get there early or be prepared to wait at their adjoining bar for a long haul. Their 16 oz Ribeye is the best steak I've ever had, and their lamb chop is up there. They are also renowned for their fresh clam chowder (with smoked marrow bone and jalapeno).

This is the place bartenders go to drink. Very hip, and amazing cocktails. You won't find any draft beer here, but you will find some of the best rum and mixed drinks in Portland. The folks at the bar are true 'mixologists', concocting masterpieces that are not only delicious, but also a thrill to watch in the creation. The indoor seating is cozy, with soft lights and plenty of woodwork and natural stone and glass tiling.
