This hike is a quick and scenic 10 min short hike (.11 miles) with views of the Colorado River and Lake Powell.
Located on Scenic View Drive off of highway 89.
NO BOAT, NO PROBLEM LAKE ACCESS:
‘The Chains" gives visitors the opportunity for swimming, fishing and viewing the Glen Canyon Dam from the Lake Powell side.
Just east of the Glen Canyon Dam, take a dirt road heading north off of highway 89.
Some agility is needed to navigate the rocks down to the lake to swim.
Explore the area and you may find some hidden private spots to enjoy a nice swim.
