Especially in the summer this little strip of beachfront is quite busy and full of activity. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby too! This beach was also the site of the Denny Party's first landing on Seattle shores in 1851.

These historic locks have been operating for over 100 years connecting boats between Lake Union/Lake Washington and the Puget Sound. Be sure to check out the salmon elevator while you're there.

The closest light rail station (the "Beacon Hill Station") is located at Beacon Ave S and S Lander St and will take you as far as SeaTac Airport (heading south) and the University of Washington (heading north).
