Sightseeing
Morecambe has so much to offer for many. Stroll along the 6 mile promenade for amazing views of the Bay and Lakeland hills in the distance. The sunsets are the best in the world. Have your photo taken with Eric, one half of Morecambe and Wise from the popular TV show in the 70's and 80's. He was from here and was actually called Eric Bartholomew. See many places you recognise from the tv series The Bay....series 2 being filmed at the moment. There are many shops and restaurants for you to visit. How about visiting The Midland hotel for a cocktail in the Rotunda bar or a superb afternoon tea or meal on the veranda. So much to offer for all the family, children will love Happy Mount Park for rides, trampolines or a little train ride. There's even a cafe and ice cream van in the summer with a splash park for cooling down in the summer sun.

Heysham Village is a gorgeous little place with lots of history and St Peter's church dating back to 17th century is where I was married and both children were baptised. It is unique and worth seeing. There are a few tea rooms to enjoy a cup of tea and cake. You will also find a Heritage Centre in the heart of the village. Great walk onto the headland with outstanding views of Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland hills. The Royal pub is wonderful for a meal by an open fire in the winter or in the summer there's an outdoor pizza oven and lots of space on the patio to enjoy a drink in the sun. Only 15 mins drive from here. Well worth a visit. You can even catch a ferry for a day trip to the Isle of Man.

Sunderland Point is a must if you like somewhere different. A small community with no shops or pubs, Sunderland Point is cut off by the tides twice a day, so please check before going. There is so much history here with Sambo's grave and the slave trade being the main point of interest. I have 2 friends living here and they both love it, especially the peace and quiet away from the rat race. You will not be disappointed if you fancy a walk with a difference, lots of birds and boats to catch your eye.
