Klambratún is a lovely little park with an art museum, Kjarvalsstaðir, in the middle of it. The park is often full of joggers, dog walkers and groups of friends (children and adults alike) enjoying various outdoor activities such as ball games or frisbee golf. In the summer, various events take place in the park, from concerts to circus performances!

At the top of Öskjuhlíð hill, Perlan offers a great view of Reykjavik in all directions. Öskjuhlíð is popular for all sorts of outdoor activities and at the bottom of the hill to the south, by Nauthólsvík, is a nice café/restaurant called Nauthóll.

Although the charm of shopping malls is up for debate, you'll find everything you need in Kringlan shopping mall. It's especially convenient in the cold winter months. You'll find grocery stores Bónus (budget) and Hagkaup (nicer) have branches in Kringlan as well as other essentials such as drug stores, hair salons etc.
