Food scene

Fantastic local food, many things from their own garden (which you can tour, and you should). The views from here are amazing. Sit at the counter for fun conversation, often with Doe Bay employees, and a great view of the kitchen.

Mountain Lake is a serene 3.9 mile loop around the lake. You can see people swinging from a rope and dropping in for a swim. You'll see birds, and lots of kayak and SUPs. And zero motor boats. The hike is pretty level, and covers a few different types of terrain. Here is a good descrition: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mountain-lake

This place is a real gem!! You must go, even if you have no intention of buying any pottery. The location is beautiful, their treehouse is cool, and the way they display their pottery in their yard is whimsical and fun.

Whale Watching

What an experience! Zooming over the water on a Zodiac, the wind and spray in your face! And an almost-guaranteed opportunity to see Orca whales up close. Because the boats are so fast, and they share information with other whale watching vessels, they can get to a location quickly. We absolutely LOVED it! This tour leaves from Friday Harbor, so some logistics required for ferry times, but you can walk on/off the ferry and don't need to bring your car.
