The other harbour in Cannes, the Canto is a bit more calm and lesser known. I highly recommend to do some yacht-spotting, while drink something seaside and have a nice stroll with less tourists around.

One afternoon, instead of going to the beach, walk around the Basse Californie neighbourhood (the one in which the apartment is) and get to upper Californie on the hills. You will find beautiful residences, calm street to stroll in, incredible vegetation and another take on Cannes, way more calm, relaxing and refreshing.

Public beaches on the Croisette
I love the beach clubs there, but sometimes you just want to take it easy by going for a quick swim and just lay on the sand. There are 2-3 public free beaches on the Croisette, very hard to miss, just ask for directions.

If you are a petrolhead like me, just stroll around the Croisette in front of hotels, you won't be disappointed!
