While the USS Constellation was one of the first three ships to be commissioned into the US Navy in 1797, this isn't it. This sloop of war is the second Constellation, commissioned in 1854. From 1855 to its decommissioning and transformation into a floating museum in 1933, she's been to the Mediterranean, the western coast of Africa, the Caribbean, and just blasted the sides off of many confederate ships during the civil war.

The floorplan is almost entirely unchanged since then, though the surrounding neighborhood is not. I recommend the visit, but don't walk around the surrounding neighborhood after dark.
