You can also take the Metro to Kong’s Nytorv (one stop towards Vanløse) and start there.

It's not a long walk from the apartment and on the way there you pass the bridge to Nyhavn and Broens Gadekøkken. There's a boat bus (havnebus) leaving from there regularly. Good way of seeing some sights too.
