Must visit eats when in Queenstown!
A great hidden spot for a winddown from your outgoing day! Located in the alley of Cow Lane, this restaurant resembles a stone cottage & is usually lit with a cozy fire. The inside is dark and rustic, the perfect setting for a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir and spaghetti Bolognaise (or amazing pizza). Treat yourself and get the garlic bread for a starter - it’s absolutely to die for!

Hands down our favourite restaurant in Queenstown. Mixing both Pacifica and Asian styles, together with blending the two cultures, aims to create a style and feel that we call “Polynasia”.

Bars

Situated in the heart of Queenstown, Perky’s is the perfect place for local tap brews and Central Otago wines. What we love most about it? You can bring your favourite snacks or takeaways on board! If you don’t get food beforehand, you can order Devil Burger from the bar staff and get it delivered to the boat while you enjoy a drink!

After a long day of indulging, try this Mediterranean-inspired, tapas style, for a late-night meal. Or head straight up to the roof top for some sensational cocktails while you stay warm by the fire pits. There’s usually a low-key DJ playing at the top- a great place to settle in for the night!

Activity

If you’re a golfer, it’s a must for you to play a round at this championship course on the edge of Lake Wakatipu (closed in winter). Hidden away from Queenstown, this course puts you up close and personal with The Remarkables. There’s a few loop tracks you can also walk through on the course if you’re just wanting to check out the stunning views! Checkout Millbrook or Arrowtown courses in the winter.

Too many wineries to choose from? This locally owned winery is a great spot to visit and make your way back through the others. They have a new cellar door which is cosy in the winter, and has a large backyard with beanbags and dogs in the summer! I nearly forgot, their wines are superb! Be sure to try their Pinot Blanc.

It's hard to say this is the best activity as there are so many! But we do highly recommend this for the whole family. It is such a fun way to have everyone involved, you can fish for the salmon, relax in the sun on the large grass area then enjoy the fresh salmon cooked for you after your big catch!

Great activity for the family or couples, especially on a rainy day. Arcade, bowling, karaoke and surrounded by great bars and restaurants but would recommend to head to town after for food as it can be quite pricey in the area.

Sightseeing

Pop over the hill and visit Wanaka! It is what we like to call a mini version of Queenstown. We also do love to visit the Lavender Farm and feed the animals while we are over there.

This place is stunning! But it would be a day trip. Take a short walk through the forest to find the beautiful pool of blue, and if your brave enough take a dip to freshen up!

The Queenstown Ferries are a great way to get to town from your accommodation. It is $10 one way or $15 for a return trip, however we do recommend getting a $60 card for a few trips if you are here for a week or so. https://queenstownferries.co.nz/ There is a stop at the Frankton Marina that we highly recommend to check out, The Boat Shed Cafe is a must for breakfast or brunch! and the Altitude Brewery is a fun kiwi brewery just waiting to have a chat.
