Public transport in Vienna by Wiener Linien
I recommend using public transport in Vienna, which is very fast, comfortable, safe and cheap (as long as you do not buy single tickets).
We do have a dense network of metro, tram, and bus lines, provided by Wiener Linien. Guests mentioned that it is the best offer of public transport they have ever seen. ;)
Depending on your stay using a combination of 24, 48, or 72-hour tickets will be the best. The week ticket has the same price as a 72-hour ticket but is only valued from Monday to Sunday. Now they also offer a ticket for 7 days.
Public transport is operating from 5 am to 1 am.

Airport Vienna -> Flat
Please be aware, Vienna Airport is outside of the city. With taxi or Uber it takes around half an hour, with OEBB train or Airport bus around an hour to get inside the city.
I recommend using a train by OEBB from the airport to Central Station Wien Hauptbahnhof. Wien Hauptbahnhof is only two stops away with the subway line U1, choose direction Oberlaa and leave at Reumannplatz. Take the exit Quellenstraße and there is only a two minutes walk left. Please ring at top/door 4.

Shop opening hours
Often guests are surprised by the fact that all shops are closed on Sunday. So keep this in mind. :)
Most of the shops will open between 8 am and 10 am and will close between 6 pm and 8 pm. On Saturday all shops have to close till 6 pm.

Drinking water
My flat and many other places are providing high-quality drinking water from the water pipe. It is transported a long way from the Alps to the city. Save money and protect nature by refilling your bottles! :)

Tourist info points
In the central station and at Albertina Place you will find the best tourist info points, providing brochures in many languages, offering customer care and sell tickets for concerts.

Information about parking your car
Parking in Vienna is limited to two hours (2.50€ per hour in 2024) from Monday to Friday 9 am to 10 pm.
Additionally, it is limited on Saturdays from 8 am to noon on certain spaces, marked by traffic signs.
From the evening and during the night it might be hard to find a free parking lot.
So I always recommend using the underground garage at Reumannplatz!
