Beatiful lake Batur at 50 minutes drive from the house is very impressiv. Nice for a drive in the morning and have a coffee on a terrace with a view. Be warned that restaurants are bad here and persistent hawkers around.
One can go down by car or scooter in the caldera and have lunch somewhere or even go over the lake and visit a village where the dead are left to the birds. All impressive but be hawker resistant.
