Spectacular views of the water running quickly over the rocks makes for a dramatic scenery. Bring your swim suit if you want to jump in.
Cross the street to the other side and you will find Bear Den Hiking trails, good for shorter walks in the woods.

There are mountain bike trails, or snowshoe and hiking trails depending on the season on Hardy Road. The parking and trails are clearly marked on Hardy Road.

There are two main lakes in Lake Placid. Mirror Lake is near the town. Lake Placid is north of town. A walk down main street for some shopping or eating is always worth the visit. There is a public beach for a summer swim, in the winter there is dog sleds, toboggan runs and ice skating.
It's a great place to take the Kayaks.

77 Mirror Lake DrThere are two main lakes in Lake Placid. Mirror Lake is near the town. Lake Placid is north of town. A walk down main street for some shopping or eating is always worth the visit. There is a public beach for a summer swim, in the winter there is dog sleds, toboggan runs and ice skating.
It's a great place to take the Kayaks.
It's less than 0.5-miles to the largest of the falls; or you can complete a longer hike of ~1.5 miles round trip (your choice). Stag Brook Falls is located on Whiteface Mountain, so there is elevation gain. The picturesque 40-foot waterfall is located near the beginning of the trail; ending here is fine. Or, follow the brook up the mountain for an excellent couple hours of family-friendly hiking with numerous waterfalls and cascades. *Please note this waterfall is only accessible when ski season is not in session since the trail crosses ski trails.*

Really yummy hand made chocolates. If you time it right, you can see them making the chocolates. It's a good place to pick up some souvenirs and a cup of Adirondack coffee.

In the summer you can watch free style jumping shows (into a swimming pool) in the winter they have special events. You can ride the elevator up and see the view from the ski jump towers.
