If you're in the mood for some shopping and dining this is where you have to stop! Spend the afternoon walking up and down bong-bong street popping in store after store. You'll soon work up an appetite and Bowral won't let you down. You will have many cafes and restaurants to choose from here, you'd be hard pressed to find one that doesn't suit you. Plan for at least 2-3 hours when visiting Bowral.

You will need a car to get around the Southern Highlands.
You won't have much access to Uber, if any. Taxis are around but not as common like a major city or suburb. Most little towns, shops and restaurants we recommend here are within a 10-15 minute drive. If you plan on driving to visit all of the wineries and do wine tastings we suggest contacting a local taxi service ahead of time to stay safe.

Due to Covid restrictions almost all restaurants are taking bookings now. The weekends can be very busy in the Southern Highlands so please contact local restaurants at least a week or more ahead of time. Very few do online bookings, it's best to call directly.

If you are visiting the Lake house during anytime other than summer be sure to bring a jacket/coat and a few jumpers along with you. It can get very chilly at night.
