Crete island is separated into 4 regions. Chania region has its capital city called Chania. Chania centre is small, so the easiest way to move around is by feet! If going to further urban areas, you can use the local, urban buses or bike or taxi. If going even further in the region, e.g. mainland and several beaches, you should better rent a car or use the buses from the central bus station. Generally, in Creta the only ways of public transport are taxis and buses.
