Food scene
Light Rail Cafe is about a 3 minute walk from the house and is open 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday. Sadly, it isn't open on Sunday. It's a great place to grab a coffee and a pastry in the morning as well as a good spot for lunch and dinner if you are in the mood for something quick and casual. They offer a variety of personal-sized pizzas sandwiches as well as a number of local(ish) beers on tap.

They have a wonderful porch and side yard for hanging out in the warmer months and seating inside for when it's colder. The Boathouse is a classic midwestern restaurant with great views of the lake. Their porch in the summer is great and their bar is usually pretty lively and fun.
