Montana de Oro has good hiking trails and a beach where kids can play. There are also some wonderful tidepools where you can see hermit crabs, sea anemones, star fish, and abalone! Be aware that the beaches here are made up of small pebbles, not sand, which may be uncomfortable for those with tender feet.

Many locals pack a cooler and leave it in their car. When they are ready for lunch, they eat at their car and then re-enter the park. (You can re-enter the park on the same day without any additional charge. You may have to get a stamp on your hand. Check with Ravine employees for more info.)
