After ascending that last corner, you discover why it is of course named Hanging Lake. This is a popular hike that you must now obtain a permit to do, but it is well worth it.

Now locals enjoy walking, running, riding a bike, all along the Crystal River. Whether you need a 42 mile one way bike ride, or a casual walk in the mountains the Rio Grande trail does not disappoint.

Glenwood is about 30 minutes from R Farm. This Mountain Town boasts a rich history as well several unique attractions. The Glenwood Hot Springs have been frequented by guests since 1888. Doc Holliday came to the area to experience some restoration from his tuberculosis, but his disease was too far advanced for him to experience much benefit. He's buried on a hill overlooking the town. Fortunately, your stay at R Farm and visit to Glenwood Springs is bound to have better results.
