Bryggjukaffi is located in Flateyri, a 20 min. drive from Ísafjörður. The fishsoup and the beer "Herðubreið" from tab is very good and I highly recommend it. As a side dish you could get a Icelandic rye bread with locally smoked lumpfish.

The place offers a staggering view over Ísafjarðardjúp, Jökulfirðir and some people say all the way to Greenland. To get to Bolafjall mountain you have to drive up the road from Bolungarvík the way to the radar station on the top. The station was built by the Americans but is now controlled by the Icelandic coast guard. The route is open from the middle of june until august september. After a visit to Bolafjall, or even before, We recommend a coffee break and a nice walk at the black sand beach in Skálavík.

Local experience
This is a small café in Gunna´s home in Neðri-Breiðadalur, a 15 min. drive from Ísafjörður..
The view is amazing and everything is home made and delicious. They also make their own Icelandic dry fish and I highly recommend you try.

A place you must visit - they now have a Sensory Lab, a brand new space at the museum. It is quiet an experience :)

Hversdagssafn – Museum of everyday life is located in the center of Ísafjörður in the Westfjords of Iceland. It has the main purpose of investigating the mundane and the common, finding the poetry that comes forward when no one is looking.
