Local town

Just 12 km north of us is the historic town of Cygnet, named by the historic French scientific expedition by Baudin in 1792. Many of our local place names were named by this expedition. Today it is a quaint and vibrant little town of about 3000 people with good food outlets and some interesting shops. Cygnet has our nearest shops.
A pleasant rural village with great food, lots of sport and recreation clubs and activities. Delightful walks along Lymington Road to the public jetty and through the hills surrounding this picturesque town. Closest shops to Abels Bay are here, 2 well stocked IGA's, 2 hotels and a separate bottleshop. Lovely little cafes with excellent food, including a Japanese sushi shop. Famous restaurants like the Red Velvet Lounge are still operating though now under new management with live music on Fridays. The Bank also has great coffee, lots of space, and good food. Jeweller's, Homeopathic book shop, home made Thai Food in Nicholls Rivulet on the way home, but not every evening
