Sightseeing
It’s a fun little town up the road from the Falls. There is a railroad museum, parking all along the tracks. Small shops and eateries. I used to be a dinner cook at the lodge. We used to be able to swim beneath the Falls. Now there is a great pathway from the observation lookout down to the base of the falls. You can drive down as well. No swimming access anymore.

They have an outlet mall as well as a historic downtown that I-90 used to run through. George’s Bakery is a hit for both pastries and catered events. Tweed’s is the iconic T-Mar Cafe which was used in the Twin Peaks series. There is a bar with live music, a wine shop, ITALIAN and franchise places.

Watch our city grow into an open waterfront park. We’ve taken out the Alaska Way Viaduct to give more access to the waterfront. From pier 54 to 70 is a lovely walk with plenty of shops, restaurants. Plus the Aquarium. North end is Myrtle Edwards Park and an outdoor glass museum.

Beautiful little Swiss Chalet with world famous Chocolates! Try the frozen dipped bananas or ice cream bars rolled in nuts! Great History and story about Julius Bohem, the founder, and the first man I ever saw in a Speedo! The Issaquah pool is named for him. He hired young artists to do representations of the Masters. Seattle has one of the two, Starbucks Roastery Reserves. You would have to go to New York to visit the other!
The coffee reserve is like a hands on museum visit. Go downstairs to see and taste the many methods of brew. See what a roasting factory looks like in motion. There is a pretty hip dining neighborhood and eclectic shopping on this block, above the freeway, on East Pike Street.
