There is a boat trip run by Government owned water transport department ( Kerala State Water Transport Department )
This boat service is conducted from Alleppey town to Kuttand village ( Nearby villages of alleppy town is collectively called Kuttanadu)
This place is surrounded by lakes, rivers and paddy fields.
This place is below sea level and cultivation is done by creating mud beds around paddy field and water is drained out to the canal using motor pumps.
The passenger cum tourist service known as "See-Kuttanad" enables the tourists including the natives and foreigners to enjoying the beauty of back waters and scenic route of Kuttanadu at a low tariff of Rs 120 at the top deck,
Trip starts from Boat Jetty Alleppy, which is situated just opposite of KSRTC stand at Alleppy ( State run bus )
Timing : ( Reaches back at Alleppey with in 3 Hrs, carry a bottle of water and some snacks, )

Any one can participate the auction and buy fresh fish, even watching this auction itself is an experience.
There are resellers - who buy from from the fishermen is large quantity and resell it in retail quantity to people, so the we could buy small amount of fish just required for the day purpose.
