Walking upstream of the river you will reach a small stream called Hrauná which runs along Grábrók-lava field. If conditions allow you can hike through the lava-field until you reach Paradísarlaut and Glanni area (1,5+ hr walk). A more comfortable option for you would be to drive up to Glanni waterfall and explore Paradísarhylur and nearby trails.
