Callaghan's Rapids features two falls which are about one metre in height, each spanning the entire width of the river, which is about forty to sixty metres across. When river flows are low enough, you can walk out and explore the river bed. The upper falls is interesting in that it is formed on a wedge-shaped outcrop of limestone which appears to be beveled down to a sharp edge, right at the crest of the falls. The lower falls is similar, but does not exhibit the beveled-edge crest. Map

Russian Banya (an outdoor sauna with a twist)A Russian sauna (banya) uses steam and operates best at 950C. It’s humidity level is 80%. In comparison, a Finnish sauna runs at low humidity levels, so slightly higher temperatures are used. It is referred to as a “dry sauna”. Whereas, the Turkish sauna operates at 50-550C and 100% humidity. It’s known as a “wet sauna”. In addition to the banya’s steam, an experienced user demands a hand-crafted venik. After the tea break, it is used during heat cycles. Read about the using it properly in The Process. But throughout the heat cycles, once the pre-heated water is splashed onto the hot granite cobbles you will feel is penetrating power of the steam - then it becomes an addiction.
