This is an excellent breakfast/lunch restaurant favorite. Small, friendly, and affordable.

This is by far our favorite Friday fish fry restaurant. It is not fancy, older decor, etc. but the fish is excellent. Lightly battered and fried but not greasy. All you can eat for $8.99. They have live music on some weekend nights (Friday used to be disco, a little corny but FUN!)

Very good food, with 1 mile of the unit. A little pricier, 10$+ burgers, fresh seafood, pasta. I would say a nice place for a special celebration like anniversary or birthday. Don't miss the head of a 525# tuna mounted in the entryway that was fished right in the canals in 1968! Reservation suggested.

City/town information

Tarpon Springs is a great little day trip. Park at the very end of the strip on Dodocanese Blvd (some free parking there) and stroll up and back down for shopping, eating, and taking pics. If you like Greek culture and food, this will statisfy. Check out the Sponge Museum with a video on the history of Tarpon and sponge diving. You may find a $5.00 Tarpon sweatshirt too! Mama's and Rusty Bellies Restaurants are good, a little on the expensive side. There is a take out place for gyros kind of in the middle of the walk that is a little more reasonable price. The cruise charters for dolphin watching and fishing are top notch. We have fished the 2 Georges, very fun! www.twogeorgesdeepseafishing.com. 727-937-8257.

I would recommend roof top dining at The Social. Also fun to rent an electric scooter and buzz around Sims Park there.

Sightseeing

Sams is the "have drinks. listen to live music, watch the sunset, dance, get food (pizza? Burger? wings? ice cream?), meet friendly Florida people" kind of place. Check their schedule for bands and don't plan on getting a table right away. Put your name in and grab a drink. They'll text you when your table is ready. Hey it's Florida, no hurry!

possibly an umbrella

June to November is considered the "rainy season" in Florida. That usually means it rains for part of the day but the weather is sunny and beautiful for the rest of it.

Any traveling outside of the neighborhood is car dependent.

The neighborhood provides plenty of activities for a couple days. Biking, kayaking, fishing, going to Hudson Beach, going to eat and dessert at Hudson Beach. Activities outside the neighborhood (Tarpon Springs, Downtown New Port Richey, Clearwater Beaches, Howard Park Beach, Honeymoon Island, St Petersburg, etc) all require Uber or rental car.

Water, wide brimmed sun hat , sunscreen.

Stay protected from dehydration and our hot summer sun especially in the summer months! It creeps up on you so take it seriously.
