Tarpon on the Fly - tips for guests

Ferry is accessible from the mainland at 12000 CR-775, Placida, FL 33946. Picture of the ferry schedule is posted on the listing for your reference. There is space at the ferry landing to unload your belongings into a cart and roll it in/out of the ferry. Ferry reservations are not available. Guests will sign in for the ferry at the gazebo and pick up a car tag at the mailbox to place on their windshield. Parking is across the street from the ferry dock landing. Once you reach the island, the unit is on the left side of first building left of the caretaker and pool area.

Several residents provide services in the island. Availability is limited and guests are encouraged to book as soon as possible if they intend to use them. Please remember this is an island with no commercial businesses. Please bring all the creature comforts you think you might need to make your stay comfortable. The number one advice from guests is: don’t overpack (clothes or food). You will likely be spending most of your time in your bathing suit. We have provided a few complimentary items -please reference “The Space” section of the listing for details.

A pack-and-play is included in the unit (stored inside the master bedroom closet). You will need to bring your own sheet set as none is provided at this time.

A kayak is provided to explore the surrounding areas. The kayak launch is located to the East right outside the unit. Use of the kayak is at your own risk and we make no warranties or guarantees on its safety.

There are several grocery store options nearby. The closest are: Publix (8725 Placida Rd, Placida, FL 33946) and Walmart Supercenter (2931 S McCall Rd, Englewood, FL 34224).
