Food scene
This place serves delicious food and wine and has one of the most beautiful views in the Oslo area. It is on the pricey side, but so worth it for an evening out. Highly recommend the set dinner and with the fabulous wine taster if you are splashing out. They also have great pizzas for kids, oysters if you just want a small treat and a take - away bakery which does very nice coffee and cinnamon rolls. There is also a roof top terrace with beautiful views if you just want to go for an afternoon/ evening drink.

Adorable cafe for cake or organic delicious food. You can sit inside or outside. There is also a large grassy play area for kids and beach just at the front. Very charming and highly recommended. It is about 2km to walk the coastal path from our house.

Great for a quick pint/glass of wine. In the summer they also have a small garden open. Shuffle board and darts inside.

Sightseeing
Just at the bottom of our street (5 minute walk) you can visit Oksval beach. Small, pretty sandy beach perfect for small children. They usually open a small stall in the summer to sell ice cream. And there is a public toilet.

I am not recommending the Stadium :) But it is the entrance to the forest. You can do lots of nice walks from there.

Beautiful sandy beach - perfect for families. You can drive, or walk around 30 minutes. It is probably 2.5km (but check the map - I am bad with estimating times and distances :))

This is not really a tourist attraction but a useful place to know about! It has pretty much everything you would need for a short stay - one restaurant and two cafes, Meny super market, toy shop, pharmacy, hair dresser, etc etc etc. Approximately 10 - 15 minutes walk from the house.
