D'Arbonne State Park is one of the prettiest you will come across. The area is hilly with the forest mostly left in tact. There are plenty of activities to choose from. They have a nice pool, nature trails that are wonderful to hike ( you can make a short or long excursion), the wildlife is plentiful, fishing at just about every turn, tennis courts, and some kayaking.

Bring bug spray
Bugs and wild animals are plentiful at the lake. Please be aware and use caution while outside. This is a lake home and expect to see bugs outside and occasionally inside the house.
Qabel ma titlaq
Bring own water and ice.
Although the water is safe to drink, it does not have a pleasant taste so bring plenty of water and pick up a bag of ice to store in the fridge.

Bring something to swim in.
Water is a little dirty but is great to swim in. At the end of the pier, the water is only 7-8 feet deep and the goes to 3 feet closer into shore. Remember to shallow for diving but great for jumping feet first into.

Traffic is terrible.
There are only 2 lane roads around town with lots of stoplights which makes traveling around town very slow. Please plan to take longer than anticipated.
