Brilliant food hall about half a mile away, with fresh deli counter, butcher, and all the most delicious fresh produce from Suffolk (and this is a county that prides itself on it's food, justifiably!) Also has a great cafe, restaurant, and giant bouncy cushion for children outside, with views over the River Orwell

The ski centre has tobogganing and Ringo rides down the driveway ski slope, which is great for kids (and adults!) who don't want to try skiing. Really fun and only about 3 miles away.

Aldeburgh is a perfect small country town - on the beach! Lots of great restaurants, a tiny cinema, two famous fish-and-chip shops and some great shops. The two-mile walk along the beach gets you to Thorpeness - a 1950s holiday village.

Thorpeness has a beach, a huge lake - with boats for hire - a country club, a couple of great pubs and lots more. The entire village was created by the Scottish playwright Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie in the 1910s as a private place for his friends and family to holiday during the summer. And it's barely changed since then.
