The Cantato Lobby Bar serves food suitable for snacks and main courses. A really nice atmosphere where you can have a cocktail and watch the sun go down. There is live music 3 nights a week. The Emprata Bistro offers a full a la carte menu. We would recommend both but the Cantato Lobby Bar is lovely.

This would be an entire day trip. It is a nature reserve. A 20 minute boat trip. All boats go from the harbour in Peniche. This would need to be booked in advance and the weather does impact on the trips due to the condition of the Atlantic. Pack a picnic and take the tour of the caves. A great day out.

From Buddhas, pagodas, terracotta statues and the various carefully-placed sculptures which can be found throughout the gardens, it is estimated that some six thousand tons of marble and granite were used to create this monumental work of art. There is the Loridos winery next-door.

Its church was the first building in Portugal to adopt the Gothic style and was (and still is!) the largest church in the country.
