Great indie cafe, home cooked food and bike hire at the quieter, but beautiful end of the Camel trail. Do try the clementine cake if you can!

The site of terrible floods a few years ago, Boscastle has been fully restored and is where we walk to pick blackberries in the autumn. It's also one of the many places where you can find a cream tea.

A stunning cove where you descend the cliff by steps. This is a low-tide beach that will reward you with caves and a beautiful swim in usually calm, clear water. Take a picnic, there's nothing nearby but nature.

This beach is an all time favourite with our family, our niece was proposed to there last year. Go at low tide for the beach, high tide for waves and rocks. When there's a low spring tide the beach is huge with caves, rock pools and private sheltered spots. We love the right hand side of the beach where you can usually get your own little private sheltered spot even in high season - just watch out for the tide coming in, it's easy to get cut off! The strand cafe does good food and the hot donuts opposite are yummy!

Although very popular, Padstow still has lots to offer including very quiet beaches along the estuary even on a hot August day - just walk a little further than everyone else!
We cycle or drive down to Rock along the back lanes and take the passenger ferry to avoid the longer drive and parking issues.
