Great meat-based and vegan options.
Wish we'd found this place earlier. This is probably one of our favorite places. If you are vegan, we recommend the Mushroom Matar. The food never disappoints and is very authentic. For those trying to eat healthy, they will cater to 'no oil' requests. Something that's difficult to find in restaurant dining.

If you are from Utah, I don't even need to mention this beloved Utah casual dining restaurant chain. If you are from outside the state, you might want to check it out and see what all the fuss is about. We recommend the Salad. If you go Vegan/low-fat, try it without the chicken or steak with double portions of beans and rice on corn tortillas with lots of their pico! According to my daughter-in-law, they have great horchata.

A confession: we've never actually been here, but this is the one that keeps popping up in everyone's recommendations for a really nice meal and fine dining experience. Why even go to St George, if you don't try this local favorite? Nielsen's has perfected the frozen custard and created the smoothest, creamiest cone of frozen yumminess imaginable! We spoke to the manager and she told us they managed to do it without adding more milk fat. If they took out any more fat, they would be required to call it "Ice Milk". Apparently, their custard is next-door-neighbor's to a health food! (Yeah, right) We'll go with that if it allows us to indulge guilt-free!

This is a family-run restaurant that specializes in sandwiches, but most especially pies-- to die for pies! Get there right as they open because they frequently sell out! There are a few tables for dine-in. Consider their chicken pot pies (get two if you're really hungry), or soup and sandwiches. Beware the evil blonde, cranky lady at the front. She's the Pie Nazi. I think they put her there to keep the place from getting too popular!

You don't want to miss biking around St George! There is an endless variety of both paved paths and spectacular mountain biking paths. Plan to go during the early morning hours if you are here during the hotter months. For paved trails, you can pick up the city trail near the condo at Cottonwood Cove (1027 South Dixie Drive) which is downhill from where you'll be staying. Consider the uphill drive at the end of your bike trip if you decide to leave from home base. From there you can access miles and miles of paved trails. https://www.sgcity.org/pdf/parkstrailsandcemetery/citytrails/trailsmappdf/trailsmap.pdf

Snow Canyon never fails to surprise, delight and astonish! Do.Not.Miss.This! It's an easy 10-15 minute drive from the condo. You will pass the entrance of Tuacahn (another must visit) on the way to the Park. There is parking just outside of the state park, where you can leave your vehicle and either walk or bike. There is a small entrance fee of $5/bike or pedestrian or $10/vehicle, unless you already have a State Park Pass. The bike/walking path winds through an amazing variety of rock formations, sand dunes and vegetation. Early mornings and evenings, when the shadows are long and the colors are the most intense, is the best time to go. It is a good biking trail for almost all abilities, but if you plan on going to the very top, be sure you're either in pretty good shape or on an e-bike. Once the trail merges onto the road, it tends to get a little more challenging.
