Waikoloa is a popular tourist spot for higher end restaurants, hotels and activities. Take a ride on Paradise helicopters for spectacular views, shop at Queen's Marketplace and King's Shops and visit the dolphins at the Waikoloa Hilton.

Waikoloa is a popular tourist spot for higher end restaurants, hotels and activities. Take a ride on Paradise helicopters for spectacular views, shop at Queen's Marketplace and King's Shops and visit the dolphins at the Waikoloa Hilton.
Visit the birthplace of King Kamehameha I up north on the Kohala coast. The farming town features dining, local shops, Pololu valley and amazing views. During the winter months, you might see humpback whales breaching along the coastline only a few hundred yards from the highway.

Higher elevations make Waimea a pastoral paradise and a bit of a breather from the heat. The green hills make this town a perfect place for cattle ranches with plenty of shops, restaurants and sites to see. You might even find chameleons in the bushes and trees over by Waimea coffee company.

Afterward, you can head to Tex Drive In for some malasadas and ono Hawaiian food. Look for some Bee Kine Hawai'i honey at local stores in this area.
