Lots of locals go, tourists go - so in the end its perfect mix.
I think Ala is as close as its gets when people ask for something traditional - place is located in basement, dimmed lights, candles, huge local beer selection, latvian style kitchen (lots of potatoes lol and huge portions - you might as how come we stay that slim? :D I know, I know - its secret !!! hahah)
And the best thing about this place - maybe except mondays, but they are always busy - either its traditional dance evening,
or karaoke, live music or concert - there is always something happening in the evenings.

There is also souvenir shop on 1st floor if you want to bring small piece of Latvia back home :)

When you dont want to buy made in China souvenirs, you should visit this place - most of the stuff there is handmade by local artists, so its double win! Oohhh, and for ladies - this is just paradise :)

Our history hasnt been easy, so for latvian monument of freedom is something saint. It was restored only by peoples donation, it is insured for 1 million euros and when you are in Riga you definitely have to say hi to MILDA (Thats ladies name holding stars)
