Sutton Hoo (A National Trust site) sits just around the corner on the other side of the River Deben. It is a famous site where several burial mounds were discovered, including the famous Anglo Saxon boat buried with its treasures. Surrounded by parkland and a picturesque lake, the Castle was once the centre of a vast network of power of power and influence.This is where Mary Tudor was proclaimed Queen of England.
