Ferry to Peaks' Island and Parking on the Mainland
Casco Bay Lines runs a ferry to Peaks' Island almost every hour. Link to schedule: https://www.cascobaylines.com/schedules/peaks-island-schedule/. It is a 20 minute ferry ride. Our house is about a half mile/15 minute walk from the ferry. You can leave your car on the mainland or bring it to the island on the car ferry. Bring a stroller or wagon
The island is very walkable and kids love to have that freedom, but I found bringing a stroller or wagon really helpful when my kids were little. They could walk as much as they wanted and then hop in the stroller when they got tired.
