The Galveston Naval Museum is located on Pelican Island which is just across Galveston Channel. It is approximately 1 mile north of the vacation rental. It can be reached by taking the Pelican Island Causeway.

I can't post the link (Airbnb rules), but the Visit Galveston website has a blog page set up for determining the beach that best fits you. Galveston has 32 miles of shoreline so there is likely a beach that will work. Let me know if you would like the link and I will find a way to get it to you.
