There are plenty of choices for Indian food in either Hathersage or Hope, we particularly like to get a takeaway from Maazi.

Industrial designer David Mellor has his factory, museum and shop just outside Hathersage. Well worth a visit to learn about the design behind some things we all see every day.

From the main car park it is a short walk to the top of Mam Tor where you are rewarded by views over the Hope Valley. For a longer walk this is the start of a walk along the ridge to Lose Hill and down into Hope. There are also a number of routes to Mam Tor starting from Castleton or Edale.
