Acceso a PlayaPlaya Blanca is a beach close to Playa Junqillal. It is a beautiful white sand beach, and a true hidden gem, this is the spot to post up with a cooler full of food and drinks and enjoy a relaxing day. Activities here include snorkeling, swimming, tanning, and exploring caves.
Sightseeing
Come to this beach if you would like to see the nesting grounds for Olive Ridley sea turtles. Thousands of turtles will be laying eggs all around you, a truly incredible experience. If you do plan to visit, make sure to call ahead to confirm the season.

An adventurous underground exploration of the Barra Honda Caves, with caves going as deep as 787 feet. This is an all-day tour, and only operates during certain times of the year, so be sure to call in advance. The tour begins with a guided hike through the dry tropical forest. Keep your eyes peeled as you may spot some exotic animals, including anteaters and monkeys. Not recommended if anyone in your party gets claustrophobic!

Some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world are right here in Guanacaste. There is nothing more magical than being in the middle of paradise, taking off your shoes, and jumping into a cool, mountain-fed swimming hole. We've narrowed the list to our favorite five waterfalls, all within four hours of Tamarindo.
Located less than two hours from Tamarindo, between Liberia and Bagaces, this easy-to-hike waterfall is considered one of, if not the most, beautiful waterfalls in Costa Rica.
Cost: Free, but parking is about $5 USD. Donations are encouraged, with funds supporting the nearby Los Llanos School.
