Bude is less than a mile away, it has a beautiful canal with one of the only sea lock gates in the country, lovely sandy beaches, Artisan shops, popular golf course, sand dunes and sea pool. There are plenty of restaurants serving a good choice of food and cocktail bars.

Boscastle
Boscastle (20 mins drive) is a picturesque historic fishing village, that became famous when it flooded in 2004, cars being washed down the usually slow and beautiful river. It's also famous for the Witch museum, with stunning walks down to the harbour and along the cliffs.

Tintagel, King Arthur's country, my birth village, only 20 mins drive. Full of history, the Old Post Office, Tintagel Castle, King Arthur's Hall. Lovely walks along tye cliffs by the church to see the New bridge to Castle Island. Tintagel has a lot of tourist shops now but whether you like them or not the history of this little village is special.
