Somethings are worth the wait. This is a bit of a day trip, but well worth the time. I have lived in Maine most of my life and can honestly say I have not had a better lobster role. Also the scallops are just amazing!!!

Lovely family run business Attached to the property that has been operating in OOB for years! I have personally talked with the owners several times and always enjoy how cordial they are and how warm and welcoming they are. Not to mention the sandwiches are delicious!

If you come to Old Orchard Beach you need to see the pier. It's an icon of this fun vibrant city and highly recommend at least walking around and soaking up the atmosphere!

Beautiful Lighthouse that is a short drive from OOB. I personally like taking day trips while on vacation and nothing is more iconic then seeing a lighthouse in Maine.

Walking or biking is easiest
while staying at this property everything downtown is walking distance. If you bring bikes, everything in OOB is close enough to travel via bike and save you the hassle of parking.

Real folks from Maine are just "wicked nice bud." We love friendly conversation and just getting to know the people who are willing to travel to our beautiful state. If someone starts talking to you, humor them and get to know them. Politeness goes a long way here!

be prepared for anything
I always recommend bringing a bit of everything. Maine weather can change very fast. However on the coast things are usually much more temperate. Just in case though, I recommend bringing a warm pullover, rain jacket and some comfy hiking pants and hiking boots. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses :)

Consider taking the kids up to Wolfs Neck
Wolfs Neck is a fun nature trail in coastal Freeport Maine. while most people are busy shopping at LL Bean scoot on down to this park for an easy walk with lots of information on Maines local wildlife and ocean biomes.
