If you rented a car, I recommend visiting outside Sintra. At only 27 min drive, you have access to some of the most amazing views. This is the most westerly point of mainland Europe.

If you rented a car, I highly recommend visiting this quiet beach. The smell of the ocean, the view is out of this world, the magnificent surfing waves are hypnotizing. I added pictures for you that I personally took.
