55 mins by car. – a beautiful old town on the edge of the Gulf of Morbihan. Very pretty harbour with interesting buildings. The ramparts and gardens are well worth a visit. Selection of shops in the city centre. The old quarter has plenty of restaurants and shops hidden in cobbled lanes with half-timbered buildings. The market is on Wednesday and Saturday.

Cobbled streets with many small shops, mostly arts and crafts. A good selection of restaurants and cafes. We highly recommend a visit here.

Rochefort-on-Terre – 1 hour 15 minutes by car - recognized as 'the best village in Brittany'. A pretty medieval town with a small castle at the top of the main street. Josselin – 40 minutes by car – is a beautiful medieval town situated on the Nante-Brest canal. It has a formidable castle coupled with a picturesque town with many interesting buildings. Besides having many restaurants, there are some quaint shops. The market takes place on Saturday. Several car boot/antique markets (vide grenier/flea market) are held throughout the year - best to check the website for dates.

Saint Nicolas des Eaux – 10 minutes by car - A beautiful village on the banks of the river Blavet. You will find cafes and bars offering snacks or meals. You can also find activities such as boat trips, canoeing, pedalo or bicycle rental or you can rent an electric boat. It's a lovely spot for a picnic or just a walk along the shore.
