There are two crossings on 1120 that you can enjoy the river for free! Just turn right out the gate, head south on 1120 about 1 mile, cross the river, and park past the 'No Parking' signs. Or turn left out the gate, drive north on 1120, you'll go past the first river crossing and onto the second river crossing, total 4.1 miles, and again cross the river and park past the 'No Parking' sign. Or you can pay the day pass fee at Garner State Park to enjoy their damned river access with paddle boat and kayak rentals. To Float the Frio: Happy Hollow is the nearest river outfitter, then Concan.
