Very popular eatery. Best part is the ability to see boats on the water. Many people stay watching the boats for a long time. To us, the food is not the reason to go there but it is so popular--and sometimes very crowded--we know others really like it. Our grandchildren always enjoy feeding the fish. Parking available via boat or car.

Quite a drive from our place but we think it is worth the drive. Family style meals, hamburgers, sandwiches, etc. Most people go there for the homemade pies. Lake view from the restaurant is great. We have never been disappointed with the food.

Gardens are beautiful all year round. Great place for a walk among the flowers, trees, waterfalls, lakefront. Golf carts are available (for a fee) for those needing assistance. Great gift shop available. Miniature train track and snack areas are popular. The most popular time to visit the gardens--and the most crowded--is during the Christmas season. The chapel hosts weddings and special musical events.

Gambling/horseracing
Cannot personally recommend the gambling but know many people come to Hot Springs for this alone. My personal favorite part of the racing season is going early (around 7:00AM) and watching the horses train/exercise. The race cafeteria (frequented primarily by jockeys and other race track employees) is open to everybody, reasonably priced, and offers a great variety of home style items. I love to take pictures and it is a great time to take horse pictures without the crowds. At times, we have seen famous horses, trainers, and jockeys.
