Food Scene
We love the Asian fusion food here, with lots of nice vegan options. It's fun to sit in the window and watch a rainy Great Western Road.

This is a pub with a music venue downstairs, but we love it as one of the many amazing vegan places in Glasgow. This one does Korean food, which is delicious and different every day. Very cool place to hang out.

This is a health food shop with some seats to sit in and have the delicious food and watch the area around Kelvinbridge. A real locals hangout. If you spend more than £20 on products (very easy to do) you get a free coffee.

Ashton Lane is a very pretty area of bars and restaurants and a cinema. We love The Wee Curry Shop, which has a place in our hearts. Mostly we get takeaway as it is so close to home!

Vegan bar and restaurant: incredibly cool. The original and the best. Everybody feels like they discovered it as you have to go down a lane to get to it. Well worth it.

Drinks & Nightlife
Top tip for seats, if you can get them: go up the stairs to the gin bar and sit in the booths. It's the only bit with windows and they feel like secret wee hideaways. Many lovely cocktails, and pretty cheap.

Arts & Culture
The Lighthouse was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and is a centre for architecture and design which always has interesting exhibitions on, and a great shop, but the best part is the two viewing areas. One is a glass viewing room which you get to by lift, the other is in the old water tower and you have to climb the stairs. Both give great views over the city centre of Glasgow. TOP TIP! You can't access one viewing area from the other.

Oran Mor has a wonderful, cosy bar and does music in the evening, but it's best thing is the daily lunchtime plays. Have a go at 'A Play, a Pie and a Pint' which does exactly what it says on the tin: new show every week, and you see it and get a pie and a pint of beer/soft drink for £10-£15. A real institution.

Sightseeing
You can go inside and see the Hunterian, but also explore the beautiful quadrangles which you can walk through to see views over Kelvingrove Park, Kelvingrove Museum and the Clyde. Don't be put off by the dowdy staircase to the quads, it is totally worth it!

You can't get into the main, original building since a huge fire a few years ago, but it's worth taking the tour from the glass building opposite. That place makes more successful contemporary artists than anywhere else in the UK.

So close to our flat and so loved by Glasgow people. A good way to walk from our flat to the Kelvingrove Museum or Kelvinhall. Also our favourite route into the city centre. Walk along the River Kelvin, it is really peaceful there.

Shopping
I have mentioned only the shop of work by local artists and the book shop on this, but the CCA has two great bars, a gallery, a cinema and many events. There's a boardgame cafe every two weeks.
