Swinging Bridge on the Toccoa RiverThis 270 foot swinging bridge that crosses the Toccoa River is the longest swinging bridge east of the Mississippi River. Located off the Benton Mackaye trail this is a short, kid-friendly hike.
This trail is located on the Appalachian Trail near the Three Forks where the Appalachian, Benton MacKaye and Duncan Ridge Trails meet. The hike is roughly two miles out and back along Long Creek. The road leading to the trailhead follows beautiful Noontootla Creek, which itself has several smaller falls. There are lots of pull off areas for picnics and trout fishing. The path is well beaten, and also beginner and kid-friendly.
