Great Pizza and in general good food. Staff is pleasant. Always busy because a part of the Castelfalfi resort. Book well in advance. Ask for Giusi. Many places closed Monday eve, but this is open. A lovely village to walk around after or before dinner. Hotel bars have spectacular views for an aperitif before.

Ghizzano has a now famous painted street by a visiting British artist. But the real find is the bar run by Aldemara and Eligio Campani. It is where all important information is exchanged in the neighborhood and has all the basics for a shop and a morning coffee.

The town mayor, armed with great riches from the construction of a local recycling plant, has turned this working authentic hill top town into an open air gallery for contemporary art. Regardless of what you think of the art, the hanging piazza and exhibition of Dante Allegheri sculpture is very entertaining. Grab a map from the information office in the main piazza and check out some of the art. It will take you around the edge of the town to enjoy, at the very least, spectacular vistas.

This red brick town is the home to a great university and the famous wild west style horse race (Palio) between the "contrade" neighborhoods. If you have the energy to climb the main bell tower, the views are spectacular.

All of the major museums can be booked on line ahead of time
It is well worth taking the time in the summer months to book all museum and restaurants as much ahead of time as possible as they fill up quickly and it is good to avoid queues.
