La Chapelle Notre Dame de la Garde

Sightseeing

A 20 minute walk from the vieux port of La Ciotat (or limited parking available closer to the Chapelle) the views from this little gem are amazing! There is a terrace to the left, with many local botanical varieties and a bee hive belonging to a local honey producer. The honey can be purchased at the markets in La Ciotat (weekend mornings Tuesday mornings year-round, and every night during the summer). For those who are sure footed and looking for a 360° view, to the left of the Chapelle there is a path that leads to steps in the stone upward to a small landing that will give breathing views of the coastline, Mediterranean Sea, and the town of La Ciotat including the shipyard.
