This place admittedly looks a bit divey/scary from the outside, but head in for their famous "Wop Chop". Manager Jolene Rohan has been working at the Freeway Tavern for 32 years. This historic restaurant and bar was started by her father and uncle back in 1962. Her family comes from an Italian background and decided to name a special pork chop sandwich the "wop chop." It has been called a "Montana Treasure".

"Our Lady of the Rockies" stands 90 feet atop the continental divide, at an elevation of 8,510 feet, overlooking the city of Butte. You can only officially reach her by scheduling a tour but we've accessed her by hiking on the continental divide and taking an off trail detour.

"Our Lady of the Rockies" stands 90 feet atop the continental divide, at an elevation of 8,510 feet, overlooking the city of Butte. You can only officially reach her by scheduling a tour but we've accessed her by hiking on the continental divide and taking an off trail detour.
Guided tours of the Copper King Mansion are available during the summer months from 10am to 4pm. Guides lead tours through the 34-room Victorian mansion elaborating on the history of the building and the people who built it and made it their home, about the many unique aspects of the mansion's construction and operation, and about the many original artifacts that furnish the mansion. Tours are $20 for adults and $10 for children.
